Five Types Of Women I Would Like To Date Before I Get Married According To Profession

A reader of mine hit me up the other day to ask if I would write a blog about dating flight attendants. I said, “No.” But of course I wasn’t so dry with my response. As I told her, I can’t write a blog about dating flight attendants because I never dated one, but they are on my list of women I would like to date.
Right up there with looks, a woman’s profession is probably one of the most superficial qualities that captivate me. To me, the more interesting the profession, the more interesting the life, the more interesting the discussion. Not only that, but I especially love a woman who loves what she does for a living and I can’t tolerate a woman who doesn’t.
Thanks to the reader who hit me up and asked me to do a blog about flight attendants, it is because of her suggestion I am doing a post today about the five women I am intrigued to date according to profession*.

STEWARDESS
Might as well begin with the group who inspired this post. When I was in high school, I actually wanted to date girls whose mothers were flight attendants because that usually meant they were home alone a lot. But as I typed that, I realized that has nothing to do with why I want to date flight attendants now. I suppose my real fascination with dating a flight attendant comes from my fear of flying. I figure if I had a girlfriend who was a flight attendant, I would have to stop being afraid to fly because I am around someone everyday who faces that fear head on. I like the idea of that, plus I like the idea of a couple days of space between us as she travels for work. I know when I date a flight attendant, I have one or two days off a week, and trust me, more relationships would last longer if they got at least that much on a week by week basis.
RESTAURATEUR/CHEF
A little bit of the Oedipus complex on this one. I grew up with a grandmother who owned a diner and cooked all the meals they put out, and a mother who was a waitress and is now the food and beverage manager at Clint Eastwood’s country club. Both women can cook like no other, but they also have a deep appreciation for food, as do I. My first words ever were, “I eat”. Just ask my mom. So of course, dating a woman who owned a restaurant or was at least a chef at one, would be a dream come true. Even on the nights she couldn’t cook for me at home, she would probably bring me home something good to eat. I also have dreams of one day owning my own little hole-in-the-wall breakfast spot (because it’s my favorite meal of the day), and I would love to partner up with a woman who can man the back of the house while I take care of the front of the house.
A WOMAN ON TV
If anyone knows Tamron Hall, can you please refer her to this site and let her know this entry is just for her? Thanks in advance.
PREACHER
I know it might be the thing only a heathen would say, but I can’t help but be turned on by an attractive woman at the pulpit. It’s wrong, I know, and I do hope the Lord forgives me, but I promise my intentions are wholesome.
I have a crush on one of the preachers at the church I attend in Harlem, but none of my thoughts of her involve a deadly sin such as lust. When I fantasize about her, the clothes are kept on, and we’re doing things no preacher should be ashamed of doing like shopping at Target. Like the title of this entry said, I just want to date a woman like this, the idea of sleeping with her hasn’t crossed my mind yet. I promise. And to all those who are giving me the side eye right now, just remember what the Bible has taught us…”Let he who is without sin caste the first stone.” That’s what I thought.
WOMEN WHO WORK AT CONDE NAST OR HEARST
Let me clue men in on a little secret I have learned about in New York City. The offices of Hearst and Conde Nast have more fine women walking around than any other buildings in New York. I have been in the halls of both publishing houses, and every time I go, I wish I could sit in the lobby with a huge lemonade and lady watch. Seriously. Even if the woman walking past me isn’t my type, I know a man whose type she is. I hope these two groups of women square off in some sort of softball game this summer because I’ll definitely be there, sitting right in the middle (have to remain neutral), cheering along, sipping a huge jug of lemonade, yelling, “I got winner!” *Don’t think for one second I am playing here. I don’t care how you look, if any of these professions apply to you, I will go out on a date with you. I don’t care how desperate it seems, this is about life experiences, not about hooking up.
